Rail travel to most parts of Australia is also quite abundant and generally comfortable. Road transport is also easy, with an enormous network of highways as well as roads, most of which are hard surfaced and usually well maintained. Rental vehicles are always readily available and for those who prefer to be driven there are many other ways to travel by bus particularly.
Within the main capital cities there are ferry services, buses, of course, as well as light rail, monorail and tram travel in several such place. Traveling by ferry on the harbours of Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne are amongst the major tourist attractions, with wonderful scenery.
